2010 남아공 월드컵 케이난 K'NAAN Wain' Flag

이번 2010 남아공 월드컵에서 귀를 즐겁게 해주는 노래가 있습니다.

다들 이번 월드컵 주제가라고 알고 계시는 분들도 많지만 공식 주제가는

콜롬비아 출신 여가수 샤키라(Shakira)가 부른 '와카와카(WakaWaka)'입니다.

하지만 공식주제가 보다 더 사랑받고 있는 노래가 있으니 바로

케이난 K'NAAN 의 Wain' Flag 입니다.

이곡은 월드컵 개막 당시 축하 공연 때 연주되어 큰 인기를 끌고 있습니다.

아프리카 특유의 리듬감과 토속성을 아주 잘 나타내어 이번 남아공 월드컵의 색깔을 잘 나타내고 있어 큰 인기를 끌고 있는 것 같습니다. 반복되는 미들템포 속에 읊조리는 듯한 보컬은 아프리카 특유의 리듬을 그대로 보여주며 시종일관 들리는 아프리카 토속 악기들의 연주와 중후한 코러스는 단조로운 멜로디임에도 곡을 결코 가볍게 들리지 않게 만드는 효과가 있습니다.

이곡은 원래 지난 5월에 발매한 Troubadour(Champion Edition)'앨범에 수록된 리믹스 버전이며 원래는 코카콜라 캠페인의 서포팅 곡으로 쓰인곡입니다. 

'내게 자유와 열정을 주세요, 너 높이 날 수 있는 지혜를 주세요'로 시작되어 자유와 열정이라는 월드컵의 모토를 주제로 세계인들의 공감을 이끌어 냈다는 평가를 받고 있습니다.
